Oh Sh!t Kits
If there’s one thing the pandemic taught us it’s humans are very entrepreneurial. An existing client came to STUDEO with a proposal to launch a new product, namely emergency kits, and needed help crafting the brand. As an events professional with over 15 years in the industry, thinking about that oh sh!t moment became second nature to her. Cut yourself while in your car? Partied a little too hard before the big day? An unexpected pimple causing you grief? These things are precisely what an Oh Sh!t Kit is for.
The tongue in cheek name led the creative process, it embodied an attitude of confidence and mischief. Taking inspiration from profanity in old comic books, the brand mark uses four bold asterisks as a visual device for the word “sh!t”, with the brand name following underneath in an understated bold and capitalized sans serif. It’s a familiar and eye catching graphic, with enough stand out to work in a busy fashion space. STUDEO went on to develop a feisty and powerful brand personality and tagline, “We Say Oh Sh!t So You Don’t Have To”.
To round out the brand we really needed to see it in application for both corporate and consumer. Brand imagery was created with the brand mark overlaid and oversized for added impact. Promotional items were designed for the launch, including hats and tees, as well as the branded kits themselves. With a tight budget we decided to use Squarespace for the eCommerce component, building out a branded website that shouts out the brand style from the top of its lungs!
